Despite some recent nasty weather, construction crews are operating on schedule in the creation of the new Center for the Arts.

Steel framing is complete and the exterior envelope is expected to be finished with framing during the next couple of weeks. The exterior walls are being closed up, with the exception of the openings for the curtainwall; that has started with the installation of the frames in the west portion of the building. Glass for these curtainwalls is expected towards the end of the month and crews will start installation on the curtainwall that faces the dining hall.

The warming temperatures allowed for roofers to return to working on the sloped roof to get it watertight before installing the metal roof (which will match most of the other metal roofs on campus).

Inside the building some framing has started on the lower level of the west building and more is expected to start on the upper level of the west building in the next couple of weeks.
