The Center for the Arts is one of the last significant pieces both for the campaign and our campus. The school recently launched a theater seat plaque initiative in hopes of fully funding the new building before the June 2017 groundbreaking.
A $5,000 gift will allow you to inscribe a plaque placed on a seat within the theater. The plaque on each seat is a visible way to commemorate your individual or family's support, honor a Brooks community member or pay tribute to favorite playwright or composer, as well as a great way to show your support for The Campaign for Brooks.
The greater Brooks community has committed a total of $45.5 million toward our $60 million goal, which includes $25 million of the $28 million needed for the Center for the Arts. Three generous members of our community have issued a $4.5 million challenge which, when matched, will fully fund the Center for the Arts, in addition to supporting financial aid and faculty enrichment.
The theater’s design offers just 387 seats and features retractable barn doors that when opened, provide additional standing room, allowing students and faculty to fit comfortably during weekly gatherings while maintaining an intimate feeling.
A campaign gift of $5,000 will provide you the opportunity to personalize a plaque for display on a seat in the main theater. If donors purchase just 200 seat plaques, it would collectively raise $1 million for the building’s construction. Please help us meet this challenge by “saving your seat” in the new auditorium.
“Our plans for Brooks and this campaign are clear,” said campaign chair Ashley W. Scott ’84, P’11, P’14. “And our goals are within reach. Under the tremendous leadership of Head of School John Packard P'18, we look to you now to help us make our school the best it can be.”
